Since their debut album, Bell Weather Department have taken a sharp turn in musical direction, focusing on forfeiting themselves amongst the ‘dreaming’ part of the brain. Experimenting with smooth vocals and movie inspired backdrops, the new single ‘For The First Time’ is one of a two-part EP release expected later this June. Intended to act as an unofficial soundtrack to innocence, the first part of the EP promises to dance around naivety and feelings of un-uniformed purity.
Following a string of line up changes since their conception, the cemented group tucked themselves away for an entire summer to explore creativity with their new release. Fine tuning the findings at a home recording facility nicknamed ‘The Factory’, emerging with the first taste 'For The First Time'.
- BELL WEATHER DEPARTMENT -
a kaleidoscopic rock &/or roll collective from Sydney, Australia
on the edge of the fault line
lies a seed that will grow in time
to form the fruit on a grapevine
first bite of the poison rind
leaves a scar on the outside
but the taste builds a wild desire
to light a spark in the starlight
stoke the fire that burns inside
to fall in love for the first time….
sweet sugar pumps in your blood line
hearts thump from the root to the top of the tree
now you can be damn sure the pins you feel won't dance with your needles again
